Support Our Family

Supporting our seminarians and St. Junipero Serra House of Formation is a direct way to build up the future of our parishes, schools, and ministries. Your generosity helps form the next generation of priests who will baptize your children, absolve your sins, anoint your sick, preach the Gospel, and accompany families through every season of life. When you invest in a seminarian, you are investing in decades of sacramental and pastoral service for the people of God.

FAQ

Does my donation go directly to seminarians?

Yes. One hundred percent of your gift designated for seminarian support goes directly to their formation and education, tuition, room and board, books, insurance, and formation programming.

What exactly does my donation help pay for?

Your support helps cover college and major seminary tuition, housing and meals at Serra House and partner seminaries, spiritual and psychological support, retreat and workshop costs, and required fees and materials for their priestly training.

Can my donation really make a difference if I can’t give a large amount?

Absolutely. Even modest monthly gifts add up to pay for books, a semester of theology, a retreat, or a portion of room and board. Many small gifts together help sustain a full year, or even a full decade, of formation for a future priest.

Are seminarians or their families expected to pay these costs?

Most seminarians cannot work full‑time while in formation, and many families cannot shoulder the expense. The Diocese, together with donors like you, assumes these costs so that no authentic vocation is turned away because of finances.

Testimonials

matthew Glaudini

“Serra House has given me a real sense of belonging. Before I entered, I wasn’t sure where I fit or how to respond to God’s call. Living here in community, with daily prayer and honest conversations, I’ve discovered that I am not alone, God is patient with my weaknesses, and my brothers and formators walk with me as I grow

oscar montalvo

“What has helped me most at Serra House is the balance between prayer, study, and human formation. The classes are challenging, but the real transformation happens in the small, everyday moments: sharing meals, doing chores, receiving feedback, and learning to love and be loved as I really am. ”

declan osueke

“When I left Nigeria to come to Serra House of Formation, I was excited but also afraid, afraid of a new culture, new language, and the question of whether I truly belonged so far from home. From my first days here, the seminarians, priests, and families of the parish welcomed me like a brother."
